I have always loved animals, especially dogs and horses, but it took me a while to leave the corporate world to work with dogs as a vocation.
My first step was to purchase a dog daycare, boarding and grooming facility in Seattle, which I operated on a daily basis for 5 1/2 years. After I sold the business I quickly realized that I wanted to continue to work with dogs, so I enrolled in the Animal Behavior College to learn specifcally about about how dogs learn and how to train them using positive training techniques.
So, here I am, a certified dog trainer, training in a class setting and individually in the dogs' homes, and loving every minute of it. There is no greater pleasure in this endeavor than watching a dog learn obedience cues and good manners, and watching the pleasure the owners experience as they succeed in learning how to train their dogs.
I continue to consult with other trainers to hone my skills, attend seminars to update my knowledge, read training books, and volunteer with the trainers at the Seattle/King County Humane Society.
